40,000 drivers joined Uber in December and average $19 per hour

    Uber had more than 160,000 drivers active on its service at the end of 2014. But even more incredible was that Uber added 32,000 drivers in November and 40,000 in December. During the last three months of 2014, those drivers received $656.8 million in payments from Uber during the last three months of 2014.

    that's very nice how many drivers did they lose "churn" and of the 600 mil paid out over 3 mos what is that per 160,000 drivers?? is that 1250 mo per driver?

    also rates have been slashed at end of October 2014 making these figures even less accurate in other words, outside of NYC where costs to drive are astronomical, including the highest tolls in USA...the average Uber driver is making less than 1000 mo..THAT"S BEFORE gas, tolls, and wear and tear.

    yeah less than $1,000/month seems about right
    unless you burn yourself out working 70+ hours a week
