I keep my radio on SiruisXM Watercolors. I love smooth jazz and do not allow the station to be changed.

I like your gravitas Wayne and selection of music. Jazz is probably the least offensive music if there is such a thing. Do you every have folks ask you to turn it off or change the selection? Curious what others think as well!

Drunken college kids always try to turn it but I do not allow them to. It is my car, my favorite station and this is only a short ride. No, I will not turn it...relax and enjoy it!
Most of them are drunk or on some kind of dope and they won't remember it in the morning anyway!

I recently added an Iphone5 USB charging cable. It also puts the rider's playlist in charge of the music in the car.
It has been very popular and generates a fun ride for all.
Audio aux cord does the same thing for android phones like the samsung line.
I also default to Sirius watercolors when rider doesn't want to control the music.

I always ask the rider of they have a music preference. Most say whatever you want. In addition to local stations I also have Sirius/XM.

If the Cubs are playing I have it on and ask if they are Cubs fans. Usually a good ice breaker.

I don't think it "should be" anything in particular. I do appreciate if they ask what I like and make any sort of attempt to play it (if they already had the music up). Rocked out to some taylor swift with a cute UberSelect girl. 5/5 stars would do again

I always think the radio should be left off, but it can depend on the pax also.

I usually have Hits 1 on XM, but occasionally turn on The Blend when I'm doing more than a 2 hour shift. I keep the volume just above audible so it's more background than anything else. I listen to audio books between rides so music is just noise to me.

When I'm alone I sometimes play music depending on the mood, or audio books. Now when it comes to passengers I usually leave it off unless they want to have it on. One of my dream rides was someone asking me to play my Billy jOels greatest hits CDs.

If the client hasn't got ear plugs in, then its good to ask them. My standard question is: what would you prefer to listen to? News/Talk, or what sort of Music?

I always have music on. My personal mix. I can sync with their phone, or they can change the station if they want. I don't really care what's On, as long as something is playing.

I can't speak "officially" for Uber, nor is this forum authorized by Uber (and no, I am not an employee of Uber or "plant," on this or any other forum, and other than a contractor/driver and occasional passenger/customer, I have absolutely no affiliation with Uber) but here's my $.02....
Can't sync with their phone (until they get Android app to work like the iPhone app), but I do have an Aux cord that I'll offer the passenger if they want to play tunes through my (stock) speakers.

I'll also allow them to turn up the volume but if I feel my speakers are in danger or I can't hear myself think or can't hear emergency vehicles, I'll back it down a notch or two. I have to back it down when they're trying to talk to me and change destinations.

Had some passengers playing Dr. Demento a while back. DD is not on my listening list but got a good chuckle outta what they played.
