Uber takes a larger cut on fewer trips, the more trips taken the less Uber keeps. Drivers keep 70% on the first 15 trips, 75% on trips 16-30 and 80% on trips after 30. Trip counts are reset each week.

Is this true? I'm under the impression I get 80% of every fare.

This morning I had the fee schedule and I am suppose to agree to it. But it won't let me. It comes up with an error. So I guess my driving to day is out. UBER please get it corrected.

We "old-timers" with more than one year seem to be grandfathered in at 80%.

Hi, Kurt. "Two Sheds" here in the
    Forumland of the Freed!

    Last September a 25% Software
    Licensing Fee ("commission")
    was implemented in San Francisco
    for the Newly "OnBoarded". Just
in April/May Rasier LLC began the
Tiered Fee Structure in San Diego.
It may have also begun in LA/OC.

Rasier reserves the right to Lower
    Rates/jimmy fees up/anything etc.
It's in the Permissions that You
HAVE to Agree to in order for Your
Phone to Access the App. Sorry!

Yes, this is true for some drivers in some markets depending on when they signed up to drive. That said, it's possible to get to the flat 20% rate. Here is an email with evidence.

Very true Harry, and it certainly adds up! It's interesting in many places outside the US there is not a safe rides fee. And for some services like uberBLACK there is no safe rides fee either. Maybe it is already included?

in Australia there is no SRF for either uber X or Black. however the drivers are about to be hit with collecting a 10% goods and services tax.

I dont believe the uber commission should be any more than 15%. I dont see that they provide very much for their 20%

Bummer about the goods and services tax Harry. They will call it whatever they can to justify taking your money.

Agreed. Uber has provided a lot of good as well as jobs but it seems they take too much when we drivers are the ones using our cars, etc. to make it all happen. We have the big expenses!

:) I have been waiting to get on that thread. I like all the tunes so far!!!

    Cass, nothing could
    be further from the
    Truth! #[F]Uber has
    "PROMISED" a lot of
    "GOOD" and way too
    many People accept
    it on Face Value. I
    have some links to
    share that will expose
    their Very Dark Side.
    Besides, it's not a Job
if the Pay is less- than
    Minimum Wage. IRS
    would call it a"hobby".

Point taken TS. I would love to see your analysis or anyone's for that matter. I will say no one is forcing us to work for Uber. Uber is providing the opportunity at this time. That may change. I really want to see some real analysis here. Because the way I see it I drive just about as much for a pickup as the actual ride. At the current mileage deduction that means I am working for free. But I am all for positive change. We all know there is a market opportunity here, how we can all be happy is the questions. I'm sure Uber has a lot of expenses mainly legal to keep things working... Not trying to defend Uber just want to present the other side/devils advocate.

Now uber takes 30% for the first 15-20 rides, then 25% for 21-30, anything after that is 20%, but it resets weekly.

Thanks @DoyleLonnegan. I know this is true for some markets and for newer drivers. Care to share the market you are referencing?

    Cost Analysis
    to under-
    stand how LITTLE the
